Unsecure garden sheds targeted by thieves in Dundee

Three garden sheds in Dundee were targeted by thieves over just seven days earlier in the month, showing the importance of keeping these buildings securely locked.
Tayside Police is urging homeowners to think about their property's security over the festive season when they may have other things on their minds.
Overnight from Thursday December 9th to Friday December 10th a shed was broken into on Whitfield Square and two mountain bikes were stolen.
Divisional Crime Prevention Officer Colin Brough suggested that homeowners should lock all doors, windows, sheds, garages and other outbuildings to ensure that thieves do not have easy access to belongings.
"Garden tools and ladders should be secured away, and set blinds or curtains to deter 'window shopping'. And most importantly, if you have an alarm, make sure you turn it on when you leave the house," he added.
Last week, the Star reported that police in Barnsley had increased their patrols in the Dearne area of the South Yorkshire town, following a spate of shed burglaries.
