Working from a shed 'is enchanting'

A woman who runs her jewellery-making business from her shed has said that she finds working in the garden "enchanting".

Sarah Hickey, 32, moved to New York to live with her now husband Matthew, 37, when she graduated from university, the Daily Express reports.

The couple got married in 2005 and moved to Northumberland in 2007 and decided to have a shed built in their garden so that they could separate their living and work spaces.

"I had done some research and found that lots of people were starting to work from their sheds. I also read that Roald Dahl had written all his stories in his shed," Ms Hickey told the newspaper.

She went on to say that working in the garden brings out her creativity and that she enjoys watching the seasons change as she makes her jewellery.

Last month, garden sheds took centre stage at an art exhibition in Australia.

Titled Into the Shed, the exhibition was held at the Fortyfivedownstairs gallery in Melbourne.ADNFCR-2655-ID-800289246-ADNFCR
