Timber screens 'can camouflage garden sheds'

People who like the extra storage space that garden sheds provide but who do not like the way they look should consider buying one, but covering it in timber screens, one commentator has suggested.
Leigh Bramwell, writing in a piece for the Rotorua Daily Post, claimed that these "elegant" screens can camouflage sheds while also providing a frame for plants to grow on.
She said that the wooden screen could also "serve as a backdrop to a row of tall, skinny trees", such as cordylines or lancewoods, which would give a good amount of height.
Ms Bramwell said that people who want to redesign their gardens can get ideas from a number of places, including landscape design books, magazines and garden designers' websites.
She added that people can also gain inspiration from visiting both public gardens and those belonging to other people.
Last month, the American Society of Landscape Architects 2010 Professional Awards gave an Honor Award to a garden shed that had a metal frame attached to it, which was intertwined with ivy.
