Garden shed owners 'are increasingly growing their own vegetables'

It is becoming more and more popular for people to grow their own vegetables, garden shed owners have been told.
This is according to Lucy Halsall, editor at Grow Your Own Magazine, who asserted that people do not need a large allotment plot to grow fruit and vegetables.
She went on to say that many of the magazine's readers have small gardens or do not have a garden at all.
"People can plant in hanging baskets or window sills, so it is not just open to people with a vast expanse of land [who can grow food]," Ms Halsall added.
Back in September, a study conducted by environmental scientists at the University of Copenhagen found that the demand for organic food products is steadily increasing.
They suggest that this is partly due to the fact that people believe that organic food is more beneficial to their health than food that is grown using pesticides.
