A beautician from Tamworth, Staffordshire, has been ordered by planning officials at Tamworth Borough Council to tear down a garden shed that she converted into a tanning salon.

Gina Barton worked two jobs to fund the start-up of her mobile spray tan business Tan Fab Easy, the Sunday Mercury reports.

Following its success the 42-year-old decided to erect a garden shed on her property and convert it into a treatment room for her clients.

She has since been told that she needed planning permission to build the shed and has been given four months to dismantle it.

"The government should be applauding me for my enterprise, not coming down on me," Ms Barton told the newspaper.

A Facebook campaign called Save the Cabin has been set up by one of her clients and has over 600 supporters.

Last week, Mike Holmes wrote on Halifax News Net that people should always find out if they need a building permit or planning permission before building a shed in their gardens.ADNFCR-2655-ID-800260852-ADNFCR
