Garden sheds 'can increase property values'

16:11:20 25th November 2010

A property's value can be enhanced through the purchase of a garden shed, one commentator has suggested.

Writing on Halifax News Net, Mike Holmes claims that the right shed must be chosen, however, if it is to make a property more appealing.

He said that, if it is build correctly and does not look out of place, then it can be an asset, but if it is poorly constructed it can have the opposite effect.

"Job one is to find out whether you need a building permit - even small sheds may require a permit," Mr Holmes wrote.

He said that, while checking this out, people should confirm other details such as lot coverage requirements.

Mr Holmes went on to say that people need to take time to think about their storage needs before investing in a shed.

As well as improving property values, garden sheds can prove useful for those with green fingers, a piece on thegardenshed.info stated recently.

It said that gardeners who need somewhere sheltered to do their potting work when the weather takes a turn for the worse will find sheds extremely useful.ADNFCR-2655-ID-800257022-ADNFCR
