Mystery boxes turn up on garden shed owner's doorstep

17:11:20 23rd November 2010

Four boxes of tools have turned up on the doorstep of a garden shed owner's house in Droitwich.

Stuart King opened the door to his home in Woodman's Rise, Westlands, at around 23:50 GMT on November 8th to find the boxes, the Droitwich Advertiser reports.

His own power tools had been stolen from his garden shed before this unusual event occurred.

Following the theft, Mr King posted a comment on Facebook asking for the return of his tools, but the ones found on his doorstep did not belong to him.

"As they are definitely not Mr King's we want to discover who they belong to and just how they got there," Droitwich Town West Community Support Officer Alun Jones told the newspaper.

The police and Mr King are curious as to whether the tools had been stolen from someone else or whether they were left at his door by a generous stranger who heard of his plight.

Last month, a man appeared in court after burgling a shed but leaving a letter for magistrates identifying himself and confessing to the crime.ADNFCR-2655-ID-800252430-ADNFCR
