Bikes stored in garden sheds 'are covered under many insurance policies'

People who do not have anywhere in their homes to store their bikes should check their insurance policies, as many provide cover for bicycles that are stored in garden sheds.
Stephen Spurdon, writing for money-marketuk.com, claimed that a lot of ordinary home contents policies will, as an optional extra, offer cover for bicycles provided they are kept in the home or a secured shed.
However, some companies provide this cover as part of their standard contents policies.
Mr Spurdon goes on to recommend that cyclists look out for their own safety when they are on the roads by joining the UK national cycling organisation CTC, which was founded in 1878.
Membership with the CTC includes £10 million public liability insurance.
While bikes and cycling equipment such as helmets, reflective clothing and lights can be stored in sheds, these buildings can also be used as a home office, a mini green house and even an outdoor bar for garden parties and barbeques, a piece on alborronchos.com recently stated.
