Garden shed converted into art studio

16:11:20 3rd November 2010

An ordinary garden shed has been transformed into an award-winning and fully-functional art studio.

The shed recently won an Honor Award at the American Society of Landscape Architects 2010 Professional Awards.

Located in a garden in San Francisco, the former storage shed has a metal frame fixed to it, which is intertwined with ivy.

This allows the building to blend in with the luscious green colours that surround it in the garden.

"The … green cube makes for an alluring part of the home's garden view," a statement from the award's judges reads.

According to the garden's owner, the variety of trees and plants present on and around the shed are frequently enjoyed by birds from a neighbouring park, such as hummingbirds, finches and warblers.

Whether using garden sheds as a workspace or a place to store tools, owners should always ensure that they are kept securely locked, the Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard recently reported police as suggesting.ADNFCR-2655-ID-800215465-ADNFCR
