Owners of garden sheds should start weeding

Gardens should be weeded at this time of year, according to one expert, to root out weeds that are growing while the ground is still warm.
Anna Pavord of the Independent suggests that this can be done with a sharp hoe or by "mulching them thickly with compost".
Noting that bindweed should be looked out for among soft fruits, she says that applications of glyphosate should kill it.
Owners of garden sheds may also want to consider tending to their greenhouses by ensuring any moss is removed from roofs, while the inside should be cleaned with disinfectant to get rid of pests.
Suggesting that daffodils should be planted at this time of year to naturalise the grass, Ms Pavord notes that some varieties can still flower after ten years in the ground.
Bunny Guinness of the Telegraph recently asserted that varying success rates in gardening are a significant factor in making it a fun hobby.
