Plant bulbs for beautiful gardens all year long

13:08:20 12th August 2010

Having a great looking garden all year long can be difficult with the fickle weather; however, flower bulbs can provide a solution.

In a report from the Telegraph, the benefits of flower bulbs have been praised due to their potential to enrich a garden throughout the year.

Writing for the publication, Francine Raymond said that forward-planning was the key to a successful set of flowers.

She admitted to planning which flower bulbs to plant each month in order to have new plants consistently flowering.

Ms Raymond said: "I pot up spring-flowering bulbs in September, selecting galvanised buckets and baths, clay flowerpots and antique containers."

Earlier this week, the BBC looked at the different seeds that can be sown in August - with various types of salad such as pak choi being most suitable - as well as which plants are now ready to be harvested.
