Garden Sheds - 1st Choice

Shed of the Year categories to change

10:08:20 2nd August 2010

Garden sheds are to be categorised differently in future Shed of the Year competitions, Andrew Wilcox has announced to Wales Online.

Mr Wilcox has combined the categories of summer houses and cabins, a change that will come into effect ready for next year's competition.

He has made this change in a bid to reflect the way these wooden structures are used by their owners. Rather than being used distinctly as one or the other, Mr Wilcox believe people are wont to change the use of these buildings to suit their needs.

Indeed, recently UKTV Gardens suggested that garden sheds could be used in a variety of ways - especially as a place of escape to help beat stress created by the demands of everyday life.

The Shed of the Year award does encourage owners to be creative with their garden sheds, with last year's winner having converted his into a replica of a pirate ship.ADNFCR-2655-ID-19916068-ADNFCR
