Couple's log cabin dream under threat

A couple from the Hertfordshire town of Hoddesdon fear their plans to open a log cabin facility to help disabled people enjoy outdoor pursuits could be hit by proposals to build an energy-efficient power plant nearby.
Speaking to the Hertfordshire Mercury, John and Gill Bridges said they have devoted all of their efforts to the Feidles Fun charity, which would provide disabled people with a place to enjoy fishing and other activities.
However, after looking at the plans for the new power plant, they realised that the site boundary includes the road they had earmarked for access to the log cabin.
Mr Bridges told the newspaper that carers working for the charity would need to take another route to reach the facility and admitted he is concerned about the whole project, which is almost complete.
Staff and children at the Three Bears Pre-School recently had reason to celebrate after moving into a new log cabin on the premises of the Tree House Early Years Centre.
