Volunteers at Age Concern Marlow have revealed their joy at the news that they will be able to invest in two new garden sheds following a fundraising campaign.

The Bucks Free Press reports that the charity has received £1,200 from the Marlow Round Table, which organised a series of events in a bid to generate funds for the organisation.

Manager Suzanne Brown told the newspaper that the money will be devoted to two new garden sheds and painting and decorating work on the outside of their building.

"It's just a real boost for all the volunteers as it shows people appreciated [what] they are doing here. The money enables us to continue our hard work," Ms Brown added.

The Nancy Oldfield Trust, which helps disabled people enjoy water-based activities, is hoping to raise £15,000 to develop a shed which can then be used to carry out boat maintenance, the Lowestoft Journal reported.
