Log cabin school officially opened

A log cabin which has been converted into a school has been officially opened.
Following a fundraising campaign, the Three Bears Pre-School moved from Ombersley Memorial Hall where it had been based for several years to a new home in the grounds of Ombersley Endowed First School.
The school's new location is the Tree House Early Years Centre and the official opening took place last Friday (July 2nd).
Lord and Lady Sandys of Ombersley were both present at the ceremony.
It represents the end of a long struggle to find suitable new premises for the pre-school.
In 2005, the managers were told that a new location would have to be secured which led to the creation of Project Ombersley Pre-School, which was designed to help generate the necessary funds to facilitate the move.
A combination of grants and donations saw the scheme raise more than £180,000.
The Droitwich Advertiser claims that a log cabin was agreed upon as the right type of structure due to its affordability, eco-friendly credentials and its aesthetic appeal.
People who live in the Suffolk countryside are set to benefit from log cabins as well, with the Suffolk Coastal District Council recently giving the green light for 12 to be constructed in Wenhaston.
