Garden home offices 'can make selling a house easier'

Installing a garden home office may make it easier for a homeowner to sell their property.
David Grievson, managing director of property development firm Puddlestone, said that there has been a growing trend since the onset of the financial crisis which has seen people invest in such projects.
He stated that the installation of a garden home office increases the attractiveness of a property in some cases.
"I don't believe that they offer much more in terms of adding value to the sales price over and above their installation costs, though I do think that in some cases it can make properties easier to sell," Mr Grievson commented.
He added that it is important to check with the local authority whether constructing a garden home office would breach planning laws before beginning building work.
Gurinder Jellehwallia, a buyer from B&Q, told the Daily Telegraph recently that increasing numbers of people are purchasing items such as summer houses and garden sheds for all manner of reasons, including working from home and relaxing.
