A film fan has revealed to the world his garden shed which he has spent the last two years converting into a pirate ship.

Reg Miller unveiled his creation to the Sun and revealed that his inspiration came from the Johnny Depp movies Pirates of the Caribbean.

The 65-year-old made the ship from bits of driftwood and various other objects collected from junk shops and it is in the running for the Shed of the Year 2010 prize.

He told the newspaper that he and his wife both enjoy spending time in the ship, which he has christened the Lady Sarah Out of Worthing.

"My grandkids love it and my wife and I spend lots of time there. On nice evenings, we enjoy a rum or two on the palm-tree veranda," Mr Miller added.

He will be in competition with recycling enthusiast Tim Massey for the Shed of the Year 2010 award.

Mr Massey is in contention for his eco-shed made from recycled materials, which he recently unveiled to the Knutsford Guardian.
