Droitwich farm buildings opened to the public

Farm buildings in the Worcestershire village of Droitwich were recently opened up to members of the public to enable them to learn about the different processes involved with food production.
Rob Adams and his wife welcomed local residents, including MP Peter Luff, to Aston Hall Farm in White Ladies on Sunday (June 13th) and showed them around the premises, the Droitwich Spa Advertiser reported.
The initiative was part of the Open Farm Sunday scheme and the public enjoyed activities such as a farm trailer ride to see growing crops as well as tours around farm buildings to see various animals up close.
Mr Luff told the newspaper that projects such as this are a good opportunity for people to learn about where their food comes from.
"Open farm Sunday is one day in the year when everyone gets the chance to understand the true story and value behind their food and the dedication and skill of farmers who produce it," he added.
The event is organised each year by Linking Environment and Farming, a charity which promotes environmentally responsible farming and is sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
