German architect reveals innovative garden shed design

A German architect has unveiled a new garden project which encourages one to live outdoors.

Nils Holger Moormann's Walden structure is inspired by a story written by Henry David Thoreau describing his relationship with nature and serves as a garden shed, mobile home and a cabin.

Gardeners can store various items one would normally find in a garden shed, including rakes wheelbarrows and shovels.

It also features a reading room and a space at the top where homeowners can take in the view of the surrounding area.

"As a whole, Walden offers lots of room for things we associate with [the] 'garden' and 'outdoors' and honours them with a layout in which they can be seen: birdhouse and bird seed, flower pot and water can, grill utensils and picnic table," Mr Holger Morrmann said.

He added that after spending time in his creation homeowners will not want to go back inside the house.

A homeowner from Knutsford recently revealed a garden shed he built himself out of recycled materials.

Tim Massey told the Knutsford Guardian that his eco-shed is the perfect place to relax after a hard day's work.
