Recycling enthusiast builds eco garden shed

A recycling enthusiast has built an eco-friendly garden shed which has been nominated for a national prize.

Tim Massey constructed his garden shed from recycled materials after helping his friend assemble a log cabin, the Knutsford Guardian reports.

He used reclaimed timber and broken glass to build the shed, which has been nominated for the 2010 Shed of the Year award.

The prize coincides with National Shed Week, which runs from July 5th to the 11th.

Mr Massey told the newspaper that it took nine months to build and involved a lot of searching for materials.

He added that the end result was worth it however, as he has built the perfect spot to relax in.

"It's a great place to just kick back with a few drinks after work. I was in there the other night playing cards for hours," he told the news provider.

With the World Cup taking place, many people have converted their garden shed into a place to watch the games.

One such family are the Fays from Lingside, Jarrow who have decorated theirs in England colours, the Jarrow and Hebburn Gazette recently reported.
