Lord Saville 'works in a garden shed'

16:06:20 14th June 2010

Lord Saville, the man who has spent the last 12 years reporting on the Bloody Sunday massacre, uses a garden shed as his home office.

The Daily Telegraph claims the shed features a wine cellar and hobby room.

Plans submitted to the local council show the garden shed to be around the same size as a modern one-bedroom flat, measuring 41 feet by 14.

Located near the swimming pool on his Surrey estate, it also features a lobby, coats room and bathroom in addition to a car port and parking space, the newspaper added.

The architect responsible for designing the shed told the news provider that it cost around £60,000 to build.

Lord Saville is not the only person to have a luxury garden shed.

A recent story in the Daily Mirror highlighted the steps some homeowners have taken to turn their garden sheds into places to escape.

One such person is software engineer Jez Walter, whose 18ft by 16ft shed has an eight-seater sofa, a plasma TV and a pool table.
