Gardening Scotland enjoys record numbers

A record number of visitors descended on Gardening Scotland to buy plants for their outdoor spaces and find items for their garden sheds last weekend.
At least 32,000 guests went to the gardening show in Edinburgh between June 3rd and 5th and it's estimated that £1 million was spent in total, reports Horticultural Week.
There were 20 show gardens and 400 exhibitors at the event where some nurseries were allegedly selling out of stock.
Jim Jermyn, Gardening Scotland show manager, said: "We have expanded the show to attract as many novice gardeners and families looking for a great day out as we do committed gardeners."
One of the award winning gardens was the Scottish Agricultural College's garden designed by Amber Goudy.
It won the Best New Show garden and was designed to encourage people to put more bee-friendly plants in their outdoor spaces, become hobby bee keepers or use fewer pesticides as these can harm the insects.
