Let the garden grow

Leave the tools in the garden shed, let nature take its course and create a wild bio diverse garden this summer, suggests the Independent.
Nature can come back to the garden and no gardening skills are required. A wildflower lawn can be created and boxes installed that house birds, bats or hedgehogs.
Wildlife and biodiversity are becoming a popular theme within garden design, something highlighted by the fact that five out of the 33 designs at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year have used it.
Chris Beardshaw, garden designer and regular on Gardener's Question Time on Radio 4, told the newspaper that wild outdoor spaces should be created but they do not have to be uncontrolled.
He told the publication: "There is a notion that the biodiverse garden is out of control, untamed. That should be knocked on the head. You can be much more chic. It's about being creative, once you understand what organisms need."
Tips for creating a natural outdoor space include planting flowers that attract insects, dig a pond, stack wood or just leave the lawn mower in the garden shed.
The flower show is held between May 25th and May 29th at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London.
