Metal garden sheds could boost garden security

Gardeners have been urged to ensure they properly secure their belongings by Huddersfield North Police, according to the Huddersfield Examiner.
A metal garden shed could be a wise investment for people worried about garden crime during the summer months.
For example, an Asgard Steel Security shed can protect a gardener's tools from being stolen and sold on because it can be padlocked and have 1.2mm thick Galvatite steel panels.
The warmer weather means people want to spend more time in their gardens but it can also make garden sheds an easy target for the increasingly frequent garden crime.
Lawnmowers and power tools can be sold for a good price so they must never be left unattended and should be locked away in the garden shed when not in use, reports the paper.
A spokesperson for Huddersfield North Police told the newspaper: "Your garden furniture and tools are very saleable items so you must make it as difficult as possible for any would-be thief to get to your property."
Other advice given includes keeping fences, walls and gates in a good condition as they can act as a deterrent to potential thieves.
Garden sheds of all types can be secured against garden crime if the windows and doors are locked.
