Gardeners have been advised to take extra care to ensure that their garden sheds are kept secure at all times.
With temperatures across the UK continuing to rise, police in Gloucester have warned that the contents of garden sheds that are not properly secured are among the top targets of opportunistic thieves over the summer season.
According to the city's crime reduction design advisor PC John Whitmarsh, garden sheds not properly locked up are a target for thieves as they often contain such valuable items as mountain bikes or power tools.
"Shed owners should check the vulnerability of their shed and make it more secure by investing in metal grills for windows, reinforced hinges and strong locks and shed alarms," he was quoted by the Stroud News and Journal as stating.
Anyone looking to boost the security of their shed may wish to consider installing an Asgard steel security shed, which offers added protection in the form of 1.2mm thick panels made from Galvatite steel and reinforced fixtures.
