Timber sheds are 'useful'
11:04:20 22nd April 2010
Timber sheds in Falmouth Harbour are going to stay there until the end of the summer according to The Packet.
The three timber sheds, in Custom House Quay, are used by ferry operators who work from the sheds as they are safe, easily accessible and in a prime location.
Falmouth Harbour Masters defended their decision to install the sheds against criticism from local residents because they meet the needs of the majority of Quay users and said nothing would be done about them.
Mark Sansom, chief executive and harbour master, told the news provider: "I strongly believe the sheds will only remain on the quay for the summer."
He added that no changes would be made until then.
Mr Sansom's comments were a defence against accusations by residents to the newspaper that the sheds are an "eyesore".
The harbour is believed to be the third largest natural dock in the world and commissioners are in charge of ensuring the port is run smoothly and safely.
