Would-be inventors can be inspired by garden sheds

Garden sheds are being used to inspire a new generation of inventors in Scotland at a new exhibition opening tomorrow (April 2nd).

Award-winning animated characters Wallace and Gromit have set up home in Glasgow Science Centre, where they will be presenting A World of Cracking Ideas, an exhibition previously based at the Science Museum in London, The Herald reports.

The newspaper said that the pair's garden shed will feature one aspect of the inventor's thinking process, while every other room in the house is being used to inspire would-be inventors.

Garden sheds are popular among those with creative minds and are used as offices by authors, musicians and scriptwriters in addition to inventors.

Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park said it is "great" to see World of Cracking Ideas opening in Scotland's largest city.

"Inventiveness has always been central to Wallace's character and it is fantastic that Wallace and Gromit can excite young people about innovation in this way," he told the newspaper.

A World of Cracking Ideas, which is sponsored by the Intellectual Property Office, will remain open until November 30th.
