Capital Steel Buildings could help New Zealand dairy farms

Capital Steel Buildings' (CSB) range of steel farm buildings and American barns could help improve New Zealand's dairy sector, which has come under criticism for being too dirty.

According to the latest report from the Dairying and Clean Streams Accord, a significant number of the country's dairy farmers are failing to comply with effluent rules.

The research showed that the level of non-compliance increased annually from 12 per cent to 15 per cent last year, suggesting that conditions at many farms continue to deteriorate.

Agriculture minister David Carter said that the findings of the report were "totally unacceptable".

He warned: "Until every farmer takes responsibility for improving effluent management, the environment and dairy's reputation will suffer."

In such situations, new farm buildings from CSB could help farmers in raising their cleanliness standards.

These buildings are constructed from solid cold rolled high-tensile steel and come with factory backed warranties of up to 25 years.

Roller shutter doors can be electrically operated and windows can be positioned to suit the farmers' needs.
