Garden Sheds - 1st Choice

Garden sheds decorated for art

A fine art student in Wales is planning to decorate a garden shed in sequins as part of her university project.

Wales Online reports that Sarah McManus, of Swansea Metropolitan University, is asking for people to send her sequins that she can use to complete the work.

Speaking to the news provider, she explained how she chose garden sheds because they are traditionally viewed as a male space, where men can escape from domestic life.

"To cover it in sequins aesthetically 'feminises' the shed and would also present the shed as demasculinised," Ms McManus said.

"If I am successful in receiving the sequins, I will place the shed on an allotment in Swansea along with a sequined wheelbarrow and other garden tools."

Garden sheds are increasingly being used for things other than the storage of implements and tools.

In fact, a growing number of people are converting their outdoor buildings into home offices as more people choose to work from home.
