Garden shed in Dorset could become a microbrewery

An entrepreneur in Dorset is planning to turn his garden shed into a microbrewery, it has been reported.

Mark Jenkin has applied for planning permission to convert the shed at the end of his garden into a small brewery, with the aim of turning his passion for making homebrew beer and wine into a business, the Bridport News reports.

If successful, the resulting products will be sold both nationally and locally through a website.

Mr Jenkin told the news provider that the idea had been "niggling away" at him for some time.

"I've been doing homebrew beer and wine for quite some years and always enjoyed it," he said.

"I don't know if it's a lifetime ambition but certainly a long-held ambition to do something different and something I would enjoy - and at the end of the day, creating something that other people will enjoy."

He plans to produce about seven beers ranging from a bitter to a stout, with the name of the brewery to be The Mighty Hop, states the Bridport News.
