Monkey rescued from garden shed finds new home in West London

A Bolivian monkey rescued from a garden shed is just one of the many animals taking residence at a unique zoo in West London.

Syon Park's Tropical Forest is a haven for rescued and endangered species, home to hundred of creatures including crocodiles, snakes, monkeys and birds, reports thisislondon.co.uk.

It is celebrating the arrival of its 500th resident this week, 20 years on from the rescue of its first animal.

The park favourite is Rolo, a monkey rescued from a cold garden shed by the RSPCA. He was found abandoned and spinning around in circles out of madness, but has now recovered and is renowned for eating worms out of the hands of visitors.

Marketing manager Russell Dickens told the news provider: "The rescues range from unwanted pets to others that have been smuggled in to the country illegally and seized - every single animal has a story to share."

The centre also offers educational school trips, animal encounters and weekly toddlers and Mums mornings.
