Garden shed and shade house feature in proposed community garden

A community garden project, complete with a garden shed to house tools and a shade house for propagation, has been proposed for an Australian town.
Camden Haven College has secured government funding for the installation of the gardens, which will include five raised garden beds and compacted gravel paths around the perimeter, reports the Camden Courier.
One of the garden beds will also be raised to allow wheelchair access, and the proposed area is to be fenced.
Camden Haven College manager Joneen Troup told the news provider that the garden would provide the college with a site to aid courses in horticulture.
"As well as the community being given the opportunity to learn the skills of gardening, and grow fresh food and make new friends," she added.
Project coordinator Tony Carroll commented on the social benefits to the community, and the roll-on effect to horticulture, hospitality and organics education.
The Federation of City Farms & Community Gardens states that the concept has grown in popularity throughout the UK, in response to a lack of access to green space and a means of producing your own food.
