Majestic playhouses created from disused water tanks

Abandoned water tanks have been transformed into unique Taj Mahal themed playhouses for children.

Inhabitots.com reports that pint-sized guests at the Dune eco-resort in India are provided with endless hours of entertainment in the new "water tank palaces".

The three recycled playhouses are painted with palm fronds, colourful flowers and topped with mini-gazebos, the website reports.

The windows have also been carved out to resemble those from an Indian palace.

Designer Katell Gelebart is behind the unique concept, and is quoted on the website as stating: "I have taken the opportunity to reuse all the construction waste or the waste generated by the client's everyday to make something new and needed in the resort."

Ms Gelebart is an environmental and human rights activist, who founded the brand Art D'Eco in Amsterdam in 1998.

She bases much of her design work on a commitment to environmental topics, such as deforestation, waste management and nuclear issues.ADNFCR-2655-ID-19576708-ADNFCR
