10:01:20 8th January 2010

A designer who started his business in a garden shed has celebrated 15 years of progress which has seen him work with celebrities and other A-list clients.

Philip Watts, as a 25-year old university graduate, began designing and making furniture items in his garden shed, but now employs 12 people and has moved the company to a Victorian former industrial building.

With many award-winning products under his belt, Watts has created door knobs for Sir Elton John as well as West End clubs.

His signature window portholes have become popular throughout the world,

Reflecting on 15 years in the design business, Mr Watts said: "I suppose I have a fascination with objects.

"People say we give objects personality. It's like the X Factor for the uninteresting architecture of life. We take boring objects and we turn them into stars and then send them out into the world."
