A ´guerrilla´ gardening group from Glasgow have set their sights on transforming a piece of disused municipal land into a lush idyll, the Scotsman reports today (November 30th).

The land, which is owned by the city council and located in the Townhead area, lay derelict before the group of volunteers started work.

Jennifer Calder, who founded the group told the news provider: "Before we got to work there, it was badly overgrown.

Last month a similar group in Edinburgh were kicked off a tract of land next to some railway tracks which they had developed by its owners Network Rail, leading to a dispute.
