Industrial buildings included in new Monopoly game

A new-look version of the popular board game Monopoly is being released in time for Christmas, which gives players the option of creating new types of property including industrial buildings and sports stadiums, Business Week reports.

Although players of the current version are able to invest in train services and utility companies, the creators of the new Monopoly City game hope the new additions will revolutionise game play.

There is a certain irony in the fact that the game is adapting to include industrial buildings at a time when they are becoming a rarer and rarer sight in developed countries.

Recently, an art exhibition dedicated to Moscow´s disappearing workshops and other industrial architecture opened in Denmark.

Ridley Scott is due to direct a film adaptation of the Monopoly board game.
