Wales“ National Botanic Garden gets Doctor Who approval
David Tennant, who is currently filming his swansong as the much love(d) time-traveller Doctor in Doctor Who, has given the National Garden of Wales the thumbs up, the Western Mail reports today (November 11th).
Parts of the latest episode of the programme, The Waters of Mars, which airs on Sunday evening, were filmed on location at the Carmarthenshire garden.
Its Great Glasshouse will feature prominently in the installment, which is said to be one of the scariest Doctor Who outings ever.
On BBC1“s Graham Norton Show, Tennant described the garden as "absolutely amazing" and a "treasure". He went on to tell viewers: "If you live anywhere near the garden you should go and visit," the Western Mail reports.
The National Botanic Garden of Wales, which opened in 2000, features the largest greenhouse of its kind in the world which houses a range of environments including a kitchen garden, Mediterranean climate and a tropical zone.
It includes a huge variety of plants, including some of the world“s rarest.
