Titchmarsh return to Gardeners´ World mooted

TV presenter Alan Titchmarsh may front Gardener´s World following its re-launch.

The 60-year old is reported to be in talks with BBC bosses over a potential return to the programme, which has come under fire recently for changes to its format which some fans argue dumb down its content.

Shortcut to Diamond Corner Sheds Storage Shed Range Titchmarsh presented the show from 1996 to 2002 and has more recently fronted his own talk show on ITV, The Alan Titchmarsh Show as well as having written seven novels and numerous gardening guides.

Gardeners´ World, which first aired in 1968, was re-launched earlier this year. Monty Don was replaced as its main presenter by Toby Buckland.

Famous presenters in the past have included Percy Thrower, Geoff Hamilton and Diarmuid Gavin. Alan Titchmarsh also fronted Ground Force along with Charlie Dimmock and Tommy Walsh, which helped popularise gardening and garden makeovers in the 1990s.
